📋 What are Screening Questions?

Some Upwork clients add extra questions to their job posts — beyond the cover letter. These are often the questions clients care about most. When you generate a proposal on a job with screening questions, the extension detects them automatically and saves them here.

Answer a question once in your own words and the extension uses your exact answer every time that question appears again — no AI, no guessing. Unanswered questions are filled by AI based on your profile until you do.

Step 1 — Install the Extension

Install the Upwork Generator Chrome extension to start generating proposals directly on Upwork.

Already installed? Skip to Step 2.

Step 2 — Connect Your Account

Link the extension to your account using your personal API key.

1. Click Upwork Generator icon in Chrome toolbar
2. Paste your API key
3. Click Activate
4. Green Connected status = you are ready

Step 3 — Complete Your Profile

Your profile is what the AI uses to write proposals. The more complete it is, the stronger your proposals.

Step 4 — Add Case Studies (Optional but Powerful)

Case studies are what make proposals win. Even one result with a number significantly increases reply rates.

You can add work from Upwork OR anywhere else — previous jobs, personal projects, client work outside Upwork. All accepted.

No case studies yet? No problem — the AI has a special method for new freelancers that builds trust without proof numbers.

Step 5 — Generate Your First Proposal

1. Go to Upwork and open any job you want to apply for
2. Click the Upwork Generator icon in Chrome toolbar
3. Click Generate Proposal
4. Wait 5-10 seconds
5. Your cover letter field fills automatically
6. Review, tweak if needed, and send

How the AI Writes Your Proposal

The AI automatically detects if the job post contains a trap word — where clients ask you to start with a specific word to prove you read the post. It handles this for you automatically every time.
